What is Ridah-Dress or Abaya-Dress,  worn by women in parts of Islamic world?

The abaya "cloak" (Arabic: عباية‎ ʿabāyah or عباءة ʿabā'ah, plural عبايات ʿabāyāt) is long overgarment essentially a robe-like dress, worn by some women in parts of the Islamic world.
It is considered an Arabic cultural dress integrated into the hijab, or Islamic dress, for many countries of the Arabian peninsula such as Saudi Arabia or United Arab Emirates, where it is the national dress.
Traditional abayat are black ( Top left picture shows 2 women wearing black abayat and niqab ) and may be either a large square of fabric draped from the shoulders or head or a long caftan. The abaya covers the whole body except the face, feet, and hands. It can be worn with the niqāb, a face veil covering all but the eyes. Some women choose to wear long black gloves, so their hands are covered as well.

The rationale behind the abaya-dress is dealt with at greater length in the article Niqab.
However there is strong evidence that head-dress was common among pre-Islamic Arabic women. The early 3rd CE writer Tertullian clearly refers in his treatise The Veiling of Virgins to some pre-Islamic women of "Arabia" wearing a veil that covers not only their head but also the entire face. These primary sources show that some women in Arabia and Persia veiled their faces long before Islam, and thus it is a cultural tradition.

The Ridah-Dress is modified long over garment essentially in 2-parts ( i.e., Upper/Pardi-fabric draped from the shoulders or head and Lower/Gagra-fabric draped from the waist to feet ), to cover the whole body except the face, feet, and hands. Ridah differs from Abayat mainly due to diversified varieties of colours and designs ( as shown in above 7 pictures ) worn mainly by Bohra Muslim women in India, Pakistan, Egypt, Yemen, Kenya, Kuwait, Bahrain, Dubai (U.A.E.), Sri Lanka, Bangla Desh, UK, Europe, USA, Canada and other parts of the Islamic World.
